Spring 2025 Elections
Elections for all 2025-2026 positions will be held on the last Friday of March. The candidate registration deadline has passed, resulting in an uncontested election.
An emergency meeting is scheduled for March 20th at 5 PM in the Westlie room to discuss reopening candidate registration.

About The Student Government
Student Government Association (SGA) is the voice of the students at Minot State University.
Our Mission
The purpose of Student Government Association shall be to promote the general welfare of the students, increase student involvement within the university, foster communication between students, staff, and administration of Minot State University and provide an official voice through which student opinion may be expressed.
Executive Positions
President
Serves as the chief executive officer of the Student Government Association and represents the student body.
Vice President of Finance
Assists the President in their duties and presides over Senate meetings.
Vice President of State Affiars
Chairs the North Dakota Student Assosciation (NDSA) Committee.
Vice President of Internal Affairs
Maintains records of meetings and handles correspondence.
Senator Positions
There are different types of senators:
Athletics Senator
Represents the interests of student athletes and athletics programs.
On-Campus and Off-Campus Residents Senator
Represents students living on campus in residence halls and those living off campus.
International Students Senator
Represents the interests and concerns of international students.
Freshman Senator
Represents first-year students and their unique concerns.
Graduate Students Senator
Represents the interests of graduate-level students.
Academic School Senator
Represents the interests of the senators academic school.
